If it's not, you need to consider doing an OS refresh/repair or reinstall to fix, as your boot process has been compromised and/or your Windows install has become damaged. Once it boots, you're good and the issue can be considered resolved. If it boots fine, you just had a bad sleep/hibernate save-state. You must make sure you hold the power button down until you hear the HDD and such actually lose power and spin down (you know the sound if you've ever done it ^.^), otherwise you're just putting the device back to sleep/hibernate again. However, an easy way to see if it is a boot interruption issue, or a failed sleep/hibernate issue is to do a hard power-down (hold power button till the suspect powers off entirely), wait power-cycle style for about 30 seconds, then power it up and see if it comes all the way up like it should (since it will ignore sleep/hibernate states in that scenario). Get ready to turn the lights down low and your volume up high. Be they demos, beta builds, or downright just free, this is the best of the best. The cursor visible on black screen issue is actually usually a software issue with the user profile loader, or the Windows boot process being interrupted partway through boot (usually just before the user profile can be loaded). Kaspersky had a problem that would cause that exact issue about a year or so ago. Ahhh no, not the face BY: Tussii Stauffer.
